That little hole at the end of the handle (or shaft) of your nail clippers is one of those design details you’ve been using for years without even thinking about it. Most people consider it a purely aesthetic feature, but it actually serves three main practical functions:
Keychain or hanging ring:
The most common reason is purely practical. You can thread a chain or ring through the hole to attach the scissors to your keychain, toiletry bag, or elsewhere in the house so you don’t lose them.
